This year’s theme, “The Courage to Trust: Nurturing Peace and Resilience through Montessori Education,” calls us to reflect deeply on education as a powerful agent of peace. In a world marked by rapid change and increasing uncertainty, the courage to trust in the child, in the process of development, and in each other has never been more vital.

A Light-Filled Home for Knowledge and Innovation in Riga
The Montessori Europe 2026 Congress will take place at the House of Science, a landmark building at the University of Latvia’s Academic Centre in Riga. Opened in 2019, this state-of-the-art venue reflects Latvia’s commitment to education, research, and international collaboration making it the perfect setting for our Congress theme, “The Courage to Trust.”
The House of Science combines striking modern architecture with sustainable design, offering spacious lecture halls, flexible learning spaces, and advanced facilities. Its glass facade and open interiors symbolise transparency and dialogue – values at the heart of both Montessori education and scientific discovery.
